Quiet Sunday in Georgia
Morning, everyone!
It's a quiet morning here in Georgia. It's beautiful here and I'm going out to plant some flowers when I finish with this. Can't wait to get some color going outside!
Planned on stamping all day yesterday, but had an offer I couldn't resist. My daughter called early yesterday and suggested that we head off to Macon for some shopping when we got our Saturday house chores finished. Now, tell me, how many of you would pass that up? Not me! We decided to stop at Olive Garden and fill our tummies first so we'd have plenty of energy for Target and Michaels. Poor Gina! First, we had terrible service; sat there for almost twenty minutes before anyone even decided to ask for our drink orders. Then, when Gina got her food, they had not cooked her peppers at all and she can't handle raw bell peppers. The waitress offered to take it back and have them cook the peppers, but Gina said she'd just pick them out because she was so hungry. Then, she cut into her chicken and took a big bite! Oops! Didn't stay in there long because the chicken was not cooked. After several more minutes we finally got the attention of the waitress and Gina told her to take it away. They offered to bring her another plate but once Gina has been turned off of a food, she's DONE! She sat there and ate four plates of salad and breadsticks while Ashley and I enjoyed our food. Then poor Gina picked up a breadstick and bit into it and it was raw dough. Ashley and I almost fell out of our chairs because we were laughing so hard. By this time, the waitress had become our best friend and was joining in with the laughter. She brought out another basket of breadsticks for Gina and we finally were able to finish our meals. When the waitress brought out our check (which they had adjusted quite nicely, I must say) she was laughing and said that the Gods were not being nice to her at all because when she printed the bill, it came out with one of the random survey requests. Oh, what fun! We finally left Olive Garden and were off to Target!
Picked up a few goodies there, not really craft related, but goodies just the same! Gina and Ashley got new outfits for a beach wedding they'll be going to in a couple of weeks. We also had to find something for Ashley to use for a school project on nutrition she's doing. Gina had the brilliant idea to buy a breakfast tray, plate, bowl, and a really cool plastic glass to go with it. Ashley is going to glue everything to the tray and then "build" a nutritional breakfast on it. Can't wait to see it! On the back, she will place a printed copy of the nutritional guidelines and specifics for her breakfast. I'll post some pictures when they finish the project--it ought to be really cute. We finished at Target and it was off to Michaels for more fun. While there, I got some Shrinky Dink to make pins. I've never done this before, but a lady brought in some pins to our last OHMS stamp club and I've decided to have some fun myself. Betty had made 300 pins using Shrinky Dink for a Relay for Life project she was involved in. They were so cute. Now, I won't be making 300 of anything, but I am going to play around. I also had to pick up some Staz-On in colors that SU no longer carries and some of the flat-bottomed marbles to use as feet on some boxes I'm making. Oh, and I found a great deal on some really neat tins that were for Coffee, Sugar, and tea. Of course I bought them and will be having someone pick me up a few more next week as I think I can cover over the word pre-printed on the tin and use them for something else. Ideas still in the works, but for $3.00 for a large tin, you can't go wrong on that! Seems like I bought a bunch more stuff, but I sure can't remember what it was.
When I finish planting the flowers, I'll be back in to do some Sunday stamping! I hope you are all enjoying your weekend and have the chance to "go create something"!
